Standard job description

This position usually arises in BPOs, KPOs and ITES. Tasks involved would be similar to that of an accountant in a service firm with the exception that some of them deal with MNCs located in different countries so individuals would have to deal with US/UK procedures as well.

Skills

The skill set expected in an account process executive in process outsourcing companies is similar to that of accountants in other service or manufacturing firms. It includes being able to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions applying general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. He should be able to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.

He/she must possess knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data. Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications is also required.

Tasks

Similar to an accountant's responsibilities, an account process executive handles day-to-day accounts, maintains all finance and accounts books and records of employees' salary. He/she prepares and maintains the profit and loss accounts and balance sheet of the company.

He/she posts sales and inventory and reconciles bank statements and credit card statements. It is the task of an account process executive to create sales tax spreadsheets on monthly basis and create other related reports from time to time.

Educational Qualifications

Most process oriented employers typically recruit graduates with B Com, BBM. Knowledge of excel and tally would be an added advantage however some firms may provide on-the training.
