Tasks

A unit manager's responsibilities include initiating and maintaining personal contact with allocated distributors / IFAs. He/she is expected to generate sales through allocated distributors. 

He/she has to provide information about MF schemes & promote them to clients and provide information on special promotions / New Fund offerings. 

He/she may also have to organize events / Help organize events for distributors and convey distributor requests for information or servicing requirements to Branch Manager.

Educational Qualifications

Typically employers look to hire graduates or post graduates from any discipline with NISM VA certification having good selling skills.

2. Assistant Manager Sales

Performing marketing activities to increase sales of the mutual fund.

Skills

An assistant sales manager must be motivated and self driven and must be focused on execution of duties with time management. He/she must possess excellent people skills while interacting with colleagues, sales representatives.

He/she must also have excellent numerical and mathematics skills.

Tasks

Typically an assistant sales manager's day is spent in maintaining product database, daily performance analytics and ensuring compliance of product management process.

He/she is responsible for updating and releasing pitch books every month, developing a dividend declaration calendar and ensuring that dividend calendar is executed.

He/she would also be responsible for updating and releasing monthly newsletters and convening Product Committee meetings periodically.

Educational Qualifications

Most mutual funds hire post graduates in any discipline preferably with a bachelor's degree in mathematics or statistics.
