Course Content

Depending on the institute offering the diploma some or all of the following subjects may be covered: Technical Analysis, Financial Planning, Investment Banking, Commodity Markets, Financial Management, International Finance, Risk Management, Derivatives, Investment & Portfolio Management, Fundamental Analysis, Quantitative Methods, Equity Markets, Debt and Money Markets, Forex Markets.

Course Fee

The course fee for a diploma from IGNOU is Rs 10000 while fee for diploma from IMS is Rs 200000.

Application process

Eligibility is graduation in any discipline from a recognized university in India. Admission to ITM is also based on scores in tests such as CAT, XAT, MAT, CET etc and candidates with 2 years or more experience are preferred..

Is it suitable for me?

If you like dealing with numbers and have a knack for financial markets and follow them well and want to focus on making a career in risk management, forex or broking then this course may be suitable for you.

It appears that many people who take up this course end up as relationship managers, intra-day traders or back office executives in broking houses at the entry level. But for job profiles as mentioned above you can do the trick with an NCFM certification of 1-2 tests.  So think again if you want spend one or two years and anywhere from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2  lakhs on such a course unless you do it from an institution like ITM and they provide assured placement.
